Quick start
- Sign in with Apple on first launch.
- Tap New on the Home screen.
- Pick two videos from your photo library: your own practice clip, and an official choreography reference of the same song. The two clips need to share at least 5 seconds of overlapping audio for the sync to work.
- Wait 10–30 seconds for upload and audio-sync.
- You land on the Compare screen. Try the layout toggle, mirror, pinch-zoom, and Export.
Frequently asked questions
The two videos won't sync — what's wrong?
SyncDance aligns clips by matching their audio. The two clips must share an overlapping segment of the same song, with the original audio intact. If one clip has the song muted, replaced, or only contains a short fragment that the other clip doesn't include, the audio fingerprint can't find a match. Try clips where both contain at least 5 seconds of the same song segment.
Upload is slow or failing
Videos are uploaded to our private cloud storage over your current network connection. On slow Wi-Fi or cellular, a 30-second clip can take 30–60 seconds. If an upload stalls, force-quit SyncDance and try again on a stronger connection. If it keeps failing, email us with the clip's approximate size and your network type.
How do I delete a single exercise?
On the Home screen, tap Select in the top right, tap the exercises to remove, then tap the trash icon. The database row and the underlying video files are both removed.
How do I delete my entire account?
Tap the account icon in the top right of the Home screen, then Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, every exercise you created, and all videos you uploaded. The action is immediate and irreversible.
Will my videos be visible to anyone else?
No. Each user's videos are stored in a private folder scoped to their user ID and accessible only via short-lived signed URLs. We do not browse, share, or use your videos for any purpose other than running the audio-sync algorithm and storing them so you can compare and re-export.
Which iPhones does SyncDance support?
iPhones running iOS 17 or later. iPhone-only for now; no iPad layout yet.
I tried to sign in with Apple and nothing happened
Make sure you're signed in to iCloud on the device (Settings → [your name]). If you're using an Apple ID that has been restricted by Screen Time or Family Sharing, the Sign in with Apple sheet may not appear. Email us and we can help diagnose.
